Setup
Windows
Get Deskctl Bridge running on your Windows PC.
Installation
Download
Download one of the Windows installers from the GitHub Releases:
- NSIS Installer:
Deskctl Bridge_vX.X.X_x64-setup.exe
The installer will:
- Install the application to your Program Files
- Create a default configuration file
- Add a Windows Firewall rule automatically
Run the Installer The installer will set up everything automatically with sensible defaults:
- Port:
9990 - Enabled Features: System Info, Usage Data, Stream, Media Controls, Processes, Autostart
- Power Management: Sleep and Hibernate enabled, Shutdown/Restart disabled for safety
Launch
Once installed, Deskctl Bridge will appear in your system tray as a tray-only app (no taskbar icon). Look for the grey icon!
Click the tray icon to open the dashboard and configure settings.
Configure Settings
After installation, click the tray icon to open the dashboard where you can:
- Change the server port
- Enable/disable features
- Configure autostart
- Enable power management options (Shutdown, Restart)
- Open the configuration file location
All settings are saved to %APPDATA%\com.codewithevilxd.deskctl-bridge\config.json
Verify It's Working
Open your browser and go to:
http://localhost:9990/api/statusYou should see {"status":"ok"}.
